The Hidden Gems
There’s more to Essence Fest besides the concerts and the French Quarter. Here are the real local spots to visit that will make you become a regular visitor to the city. These spots are a step up from your normal dive bars in the city. Element79, and Bayo Social lead the way in my opinion. Red Light District is close to the Superdome if you don’t want to go far after the concert.

35 and Older Vibes
Check out the Grown-up Bars. Most of these spots will be open d at night, and a food truck will likely be available. Seals is for the older crowd, 45 and up. Goldys is also an older-crowd spot; however, the DJ plays a great R&B mix. J’ Place Neauxla is more of the true New Orleans vibe. R&B with the bounce Beat will get you right. Bertha’s Place is a for-sure late-night spot with food trucks on the strip.
