Established 1994 · Pigeon Town, Uptown

The Easter Sunday Tradition.

The Original Pigeon Town Steppers came together in 1994, started by brothers Sylvester and “Rollin” Joe Henry with their friend John “Moosie” Glenn — a men’s club built on unity, fellowship, and looking out for the neighborhood. The name comes from Pigeon Town, the stretch of Carrollton up in the 17th Ward where most of the members are from.

That first year they went renegade — no permit, no nothing — and a tradition was born. The Steppers are best known for their Easter Sunday second line, one of the most beloved rolls of the season, filling the Uptown streets from Sportsman’s Corner all the way out to Carrollton.

Unity, fellowship, and footwork.
