A staple of Frenchmen Street, the Young Fellaz built their name playing right in the middle of the action.
Established 2005 · Frenchmen Street
Corner of Frenchmen.
The Young Fellaz Brass Band started in 2005 with just three members — snare, tuba, and bass drum — walking their neighborhood and playing for the love of it. By 2011 they had grown to eight, cut three albums, and taken their sound on the road.
They became a fixture on Frenchmen Street, holding down the corner in the middle of all the action. When one lot filled in, they moved across the street and kept blowing — the sound of live New Orleans music in the street where it belongs.
