The club’s heritage runs back to Tambourine and Fan, the 7th Ward group founded in 1968 to pass the culture to the next generation — and that spirit of service still guides the Ladies today.
7th Ward · New Orleans
Style with Substance.
The Versatile Ladies of Style trace their legacy to Tambourine and Fan, the 7th Ward organization that civil rights leader Jerome Smith helped found in 1968 to teach New Orleans children the history and rituals of the parading tradition.
That grounding shows: the club carries itself as much as a ministry as a marching club, serving the community while bringing style and footwork to the 7th Ward streets.
