Grammy-Winning Brass.
The New Orleans Nightcrawlers formed in 1994, dreamed up by pianist Tom McDermott, sousaphonist Matt Perrine, and trumpeter Kevin Clark as a kind of writer’s workshop for brass band music — sophisticated arrangements built on the traditional sound.
Their 2020 album “Atmosphere” won the Grammy for Best Regional Roots Music Album, and the follow-up earned another nomination. Two decades of Jazz Fest sets, world tours — and even a cameo on The Simpsons — later, they are one of the city’s most respected brass bands.
