Rise Up.
Revolution is a 9th Ward club, founded by Joseph “Joe Black” Baker — one of the new wave of social aid and pleasure clubs that began staging their own parades in the 1990s. The roll is pure Desire, Florida, and Claiborne, deep in the heart of the Lower 9.
The route reads like a family reunion of the ward’s clubs — picking up the 9th Ward Rollers and pausing with OTF, Keeping It Real, the 9 X’s Kids, and Family Ties before circling home to Johnny Jackson Blvd. behind Sporty’s Brass Band.
