The Parade

Spirit 2 Da Street rolls through the 7th Ward. The exact route is released before the parade.

Founded in 2015 with Big Chief Pie Stevenson as Grand Marshal, the club honors the 7th Ward’s Tambourine and Fan culture that raised generations of maskers and marchers.

The Spirit Told Me.

Spirit 2 Da Street was started in 2015 by Monogram Hunters Medicine Man Larry, with the legendary Big Chief Tyrone “Pie” Stevenson as its Grand Marshal. Pie masked 23 years as Spy Boy and Gang Flag, mentored by Melvin Reed and Jerome Smith of Tambourine and Fan.

The club was built to pay tribute to that 7th Ward Tambourine and Fan culture. The name came straight from Larry’s conviction — the spirit told him he could do it — so he took the spirit to the street.

Take the spirit to the street.
