About the School

Founded in 1843 as Boys High School, Warren Easton was the first high school in the State of Louisiana. It was renamed to honor Warren Easton when it moved to its Canal Street home in 1913. The school became coeducational in 1952, integrated in 1967, and reopened as Warren Easton Charter High School in 2006.

Its Hall of Fame honors more than 150 graduates, and the Eagles remain one of the proudest traditions in New Orleans.
