Do Whatcha Wanna.

Rebirth Brass Band was founded in 1983 by brothers Phil and Keith Frazier with trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, coming up out of Joseph S. Clark High School in Treme. They took the traditional brass sound and charged it with funk, hip-hop, and pure street energy — and changed the music forever.

Their anthem “Do Whatcha Wanna” is a New Orleans standard, and in 2012 they won the Grammy for Best Regional Roots Music Album. Four decades in, Rebirth’s legendary weekly Tuesday-night set is a rite of passage for anyone who loves this city.
