John Creuzot is a New Orleans-born lawyer and retired judge who has served as Dallas County District Attorney since January 2019. As a judge he created a drug-diversion program that cut recidivism substantially; the county later named its judicial treatment center for him. He sought a third term in 2026 but lost the Democratic primary to former district judge Amber Givens-Davis, 53.85 to 46.15 percent. His term runs through December 2026.
