Joe Gruters is the Florida Senate, District 22. A state senator is one of 40 members of the Florida Senate, the upper chamber of the Legislature that writes state law and passes the state budget each spring in Tallahassee. Senators also confirm the Governor’s appointments and decide the rules on schools, property insurance, health care, roads and taxes for the area they represent.
