Jay Collins is the Lieutenant Governor of Florida. The Lieutenant Governor is the Governor’s second-in-command and takes over the job if the Governor dies, resigns or cannot serve. The office has almost no duties written into law, so the officeholder works on whatever assignments and initiatives the Governor hands them.
