Jane Castor is the Mayor of Tampa. The mayor runs Tampa day-to-day government, hiring and directing the department heads who handle police, fire, water, sewer, trash, parks and permitting. She writes the city budget that City Council votes on, and can veto ordinances the council passes.
Term ending May 1, 2027. Not on the November 3, 2026 ballot; the next Tampa city election is March 2, 2027 with a runoff April 27, 2027.
