Gus M. Bilirakis is the U.S. Representative, Florida 12th Congressional District. A member of the U.S. House writes and votes on federal law and on the federal budget, and sits on committees that oversee agencies like FEMA, Medicare and the VA. Each member represents one district of roughly 800,000 people and runs local offices that help constituents with federal casework and with federal grants for the area.

Republican. Under the NEW Florida congressional map signed into law May 4, 2026, CD 12 runs from Shady Hills in Pasco County south into downtown Tampa, so it now covers part of Hillsborough County. Incumbency confirmed on Ballotpedia; new district shape reported by Axios Tampa Bay and WUSF, both May 2026. The Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections confirms the new map was loaded into the county voter database in June 2026.
