Copley Gerdes is the St. Petersburg City Council, District 1. One of eight council members who write city ordinances, approve the mayor’s budget, set property tax rates and vote on rezonings and land deals. District 1 covers northeast St. Pete, and Gerdes is elected only by voters in that district but votes on everything citywide.
