Chris Latvala is the Pinellas County Commissioner, District 5 (Single-Member). County commissioners set the county property tax rate, pass the county budget and write ordinances covering unincorporated Pinellas and countywide services like transit, the jail budget, beach renourishment and tourist-tax spending. As 2026 vice chair he fills in for the chair. District 5 is a single-member seat covering mid-county around Clearwater and Largo.
