Historic Manhattan Casino

Built in 1931, the Manhattan Casino was the premier Black entertainment hall of the Deuces, hosting Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles during the segregation era. It is one of St. Petersburg’s most important Black cultural landmarks.

The city-owned historic building is undergoing a renovation to reopen as an event and music venue. Exterior viewing is available, so check the city or venue for current access during renovation.
