Founded in 1956 by Benjamin and Mary Rose Dean, this is the oldest continuously operating Black-owned business in Oregon and a symbol of African American entrepreneurship in Albina. It has anchored the Black community for generations.

Still family-operated as a working salon and barber shop, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2022. Visitors can patronize it as a living historic site rather than a museum.
