Division One hears nearly every appeal out of Maricopa County Superior Court – criminal convictions, divorce and custody rulings, civil verdicts and state agency decisions including unemployment and workers’ comp. Its 19 judges sit in three-judge panels; the Chief Judge assigns those panels and runs the court’s administration.
