Ann A. Scott Timmer

Sits on the court that has the final word on Arizona law. It hears appeals from the Court of Appeals, takes every death-penalty appeal directly, and resolves challenges to state laws and ballot measures. The court also runs the entire state court system and writes the rules of procedure every Arizona court follows. As Chief Justice she is also the administrative head of Arizona’s judicial branch.
