About Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen
Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen on North La Brea Avenue is the flagship of a small Los Angeles cafe group, a full coffee bar with a kitchen turning out all-day food in downtown Inglewood.
The business was founded in 2018 by Yonnie Hagos and Ajay Relan, who opened their first shop in View Park before bringing the Inglewood location online in 2019. Writer and producer Issa Rae joined the pair as a partner and co-owner, and the company is described as Black-owned. The founders describe the aim simply as building places where people connect with each other.
The group has since added locations in Eagle Rock and downtown Los Angeles, plus a counter at LAX Terminal 7.
