About Earle's
Earle's on Crenshaw is a hot dog and sausage restaurant on Crenshaw Boulevard in Los Angeles, near Leimert Park. Though grouped with the city's bars in some listings, it is a counter-service restaurant open for lunch and early dinner.
Brothers Cary and Duane Earle run it. They grew up in Brooklyn, moved west, and started in 1984 with a small hot dog cart Cary built himself, first selling in Venice. The trademark is the dog split down the middle and grilled butterfly style, in beef, turkey or chicken. The salmon burger is the best seller, and the kitchen also makes vegan dogs, burgers and chili.
Hours run Tuesday through Saturday; the shop is closed Sunday and Monday.
