About Harun Coffee
Harun Coffee sits on Degnan Boulevard in Leimert Park Village, the block of galleries, record shops and cafes that has anchored Black cultural life in Los Angeles for decades.
It was opened in 2019 by entertainment executive Chace Johnson, known as Chace Infinite, as a gathering spot for artists and entrepreneurs. The cafe closed in 2023 and reopened in January 2026 after Community Labs, founded by Prophet Walker and Cheron Hall, invested in a rebuild that added custom furniture by designer Shin Okuda and a hidden entry behind a yellow merchandise wall. Matcha lattes and vegan doughnuts are among the draws.
The room works as a casual cafe by day and shifts in the evening toward poetry, music and talks, a nod to the role coffeehouses played in Black organizing.
