The Golden Comanche was started in 2004 by Wallace Pardo, who had been Spy Boy of the Golden Arrows under Big Chief Eugene "Pepe" Esteban, after Esteban stepped down. Wallace's brother Juan Pardo became Big Chief in 2015. Juan Pardo has recorded with Galactic ("Ha Di Ka" on Carnivale Electricos), the New Orleans Suspects and 101 Runners, released the album Spirit Food with the Golden Comanche, appeared in HBO's Treme, and plays a Mardi Gras morning sunrise set at Tipitina's.
