The Flaming Arrows trace their lineage to Big Chief Jabby in the 1940s, followed by Big Chief Theodore "Merch" Goodman (1952-1970) and Big Chief Kevin Goodman, who has led the gang since 1970. Big Chief Alfred Doucette, a twice-inducted Mardi Gras Indian Hall of Famer who came up in the culture around 1952, is known as Big Chief of the Flaming Arrow Warriors and as a recording artist ("Marie Laveau").
