9th Ward Hunters Mardi Gras Indian Tribe

The 9th Ward Hunters were masking by the early 1970s under Big Chief Rudy, whose son Rudy "Romeo" Bougere is Big Chief today. Romeo and 7th Ward Creole Hunters Big Chief Jermaine Bossier, chiefs of once-rival gangs, formed the band 79rs Gang, which has released albums including Fire on the Bayou (2015) and Expect the Unexpected (2020) and toured folk festivals nationwide.
