Founded in December 2018 by former public-school educator Derek Boles, M.Ed., Legacy Homes and Properties is billed as the largest Black-owned real estate brokerage in Texas. It has grown from 15 agents at launch to more than 100 licensed agents, with offices in Humble, Pearland, Downtown Houston and North Shore under the motto “Your Legacy Starts Here.”

The firm doubled its sales volume from roughly $29 million in 2019 to about $60 million in 2020, and backs clients with homebuyer workshops and financial-literacy education alongside a Legacy coaching arm that trains its growing agent roster.
