Notable interments include Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Olympic legend Jesse Owens, Chicago’s first Black mayor Harold Washington, Ebony and Jet founder John H. Johnson, and gospel pioneer Thomas A. Dorsey. It is open to visitors during posted daytime hours.
