Jeylu B. Gutierrez represents the 14th Ward, covering the Southwest Side including Archer Heights and parts of Brighton Park. An alderperson is the elected City Council member for one of Chicago’s 50 wards, voting on ordinances, the city budget and local zoning. She succeeded longtime Ald. Ed Burke.
