Formed in 2002 by students at Carver and Kennedy high schools from the 7th and 9th Wards, TBC became famous for nightly street sets at the corner of Bourbon and Canal Streets. The Roots mentored the band before Katrina, and the documentary 'From the Mouthpiece on Back,' narrated by Kerry Washington, told their post-storm story. Saxophonist Brandon 'Bee' Franklin was killed in 2010; the band released 'To Be Continued' in 2013. Founded: 2002
