Founded in 1996 by Walter Ramsey, who combined players from two rival high-school marching bands after being inspired by Rebirth. The Stooges won the 2010 Red Bull Street Kings competition, were named Best Contemporary Brass Band at the 2011 Big Easy Music Awards, and toured Pakistan and Central Asia as U.S. State Department cultural ambassadors in 2012. Their signature 'Wind It Up' was featured on 'The Originals,' and the band co-authored the book 'Can't Be Faded' (University Press of Mississippi, 2020). Founded: 1996
