Original Tuxedo Jazz Band New Orleans Brass Band

Founded in 1910 by cornetist Oscar 'Papa' Celestin, the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band is among the oldest continuously operating jazz bands in the world. Leadership passed to banjoist Albert 'Papa' French in 1958, to his son, drummer Bob French, in 1977, and in December 2011 to Bob's nephew, drummer and vocalist Gerald French, the band's fifth leader. The band plays traditional New Orleans jazz at hotels, festivals and Jazz Fest. Founded: 1910
