Started in 1991 at St. Mary's Academy, a Catholic girls' school, by band director Jeffery Herbert, who named them after his own Original Pinstripe Brass Band. Drummer Christie Jourdain took over leadership after Katrina, and the band, the city's only all-female brass band, won the 2013 Red Bull Street Kings competition and released 'Finally' the same year. They have played with Arcade Fire and performed at Katy Perry's 2017 Met Gala afterparty. Founded: 1991 Residency: Long-running Friday-night gig at Bullet's Sports Bar, 2441 A.P.
