Jeri Robinson

The seven-member School Committee is appointed by the mayor, not elected. It hires and evaluates the superintendent, approves the Boston Public Schools budget, and sets district policy on school assignment, start times and more. Robinson, an early-childhood education leader, was re-elected chair by the committee in January 2026.
