About
Bridget Thorne represents District 1 on the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners is the county’s legislative body — it adopts the budget and sets county policy. Six commissioners represent districts and the Chairman is elected countywide (at-large).

Voting in Georgia is simpler than it looks. Here is exactly what you need, step by step. Everything below is free.
Step 1: Register (or check that you still are)
You can register online in minutes, or confirm your registration and find your polling place on Georgia’s My Voter Page. The deadline for the November 3, 2026 election is October 5, 2026 — the same for online, mail, and in person.
Step 2: Have a photo ID
Georgia asks for a photo ID to vote. Accepted IDs include a Georgia driver’s license (even if expired), a Georgia ID card, a US passport, a US military or government photo ID, or a free Georgia Voter ID Card. Don’t have one? The state gives you a Voter ID Card for free.
Get a free Georgia Voter ID Card at any Department of Driver Services office, or at your county election office below. Bring proof of your name, date of birth, and address.
If you get to the polls without a photo ID, you can still cast a provisional ballot — then show a photo ID to your county registrar within three days and it counts.
Step 3: Know your dates
For the November 3, 2026 general election:
- Register by October 5, 2026
- Early voting: October 13–30, 2026 — including at least one Saturday, required by state law
- Election Day: November 3, polls open 7 AM to 7 PM. If you are in line by 7 PM, you get to vote.
Step 4: Pick how you vote
In person, early: vote at any early-voting site in your county, October 13–30. On Election Day: vote at your assigned polling place. By mail: any Georgia voter can request an absentee ballot — your request must reach your county by the 11th day before the election, and your voted ballot must be received (not just postmarked) by 7 PM on Election Day.
Step 5: See your ballot before you go
Look up everything and everyone on your specific ballot ahead of time, so nothing is a surprise in the booth.
