About Atlanta Black Theatre Festival
The Atlanta Black Theatre Festival is produced by Micah 6-8 Media, LLC, a full-service event management company that creates arts and culture events for municipalities, theater companies and small businesses. Co-founded by Toni Simmons Henson, the festival calls itself the nation's largest self-producing platform for Afro-centric theatre under one roof.
Its 15th anniversary edition ran September 3 to 5, 2026, over Labor Day weekend at Spelman College. Year-round programming includes the Let's Talk Theatre—LIVE! podcast, Chocolate Box Showcase casting calls, a small-business silent auction and ABTF Travels. Producers, vendors and volunteers can sign up through the website.
