No. 16 of 17 · Sweet to Dry
Esplanade Reserve
Cabernet Sauvignon · Esplanade Ave · Tremé
Formerly Le Quartier. The one that carries the name.
Esplanade Avenue is the Creole boulevard — the grand oak-lined run of mansions built by free families of color and Creole society, from the river past Tremé out to Bayou St. John. It is New Orleans at its most stately. The Reserve of this cellar is its Cabernet: the most structured, the most ageworthy, the one that carries the name.
Tasting NoteCassis, black cherry, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite; full-bodied, firm tannin, a long, composed finish.
