The City of Sarasota hosts an annual Juneteenth celebration in the Newtown neighborhood along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, typically on the Saturday closest to June 19. The free outdoor street festival features live music, food, vendors and family activities, and runs for several hours in the afternoon and early evening.
