Built around 1900, this is one of the last Green Book-era Black boarding houses in Tampa, having hosted travelers barred from white hotels including performers such as Ray Charles and James Brown. It is a rare surviving artifact of segregation-era Black travel.
Visitor Info
The house is undergoing a multi-million-dollar restoration and is not currently open to visitors, with plans to reopen as a museum. The exterior can be seen from the street, and the Jackson House Foundation shares updates online.
