Madame Fortune Dessert and HiFi Parlour is a Black-owned speakeasy in Ybor City, reached through a bookcase door inside the Roast Delicatessen and Bakery. It is named for Fortune Taylor, the formerly enslaved Black landowner whose Hillsborough River property gave Tampa’s Fortune Street its name. The room serves Caribbean-leaning desserts and plates alongside a vinyl hi-fi listening setup, live jazz on weekends and a brunch service.
