About Box Owt
Box Owt is Mobile's first shipping-container food court, on Dauphin Street between Jackson and Joachim streets downtown. It has an indoor dueling piano bar next door. It was developed by Artius Walker, owner of the SMAC Shack mac-and-cheese truck, and opened in September 2023 on a former community garden site. Independent food concepts rotate through the repurposed containers, so the lineup changes. Lunch is served Tuesday through Saturday, and it stays open late on Friday and Saturday nights. It is closed Sunday and Monday.
