About Kazoola Eatery & Entertainment
Kazoola Eatery & Entertainment is a grown-up music bar and kitchen on lower Dauphin Street, owned by Marc Jackson. Mobile Bay Magazine called it the only African American-owned and -operated property on Lower Dauphin Street. Jackson modeled it partly on BB King's Blues Club, and the room books live jazz, blues and Motown. The menu covers wings, grilled Gulf shrimp over grits, red beans and rice with smoked turkey necks, and burgers, plus cocktails like a New York Sour. Kazoola still hosts arts nights, including the 2026 'Kazoola Kulture' poetry open mic with a live band.
