You do not watch a second line. You get in it.
A Social Aid and Pleasure Club started as a burial society — neighbors pooling dues so a man could be buried with a band. The social aid was the insurance. The pleasure is what you see on Sunday. We roll from Bayou Road to Broad, twelve times a year, and a rolling kitchen and bar follows the whole route so you never have to leave it to eat, drink, or find a restroom.
