Opened in Wynwood in October 2019 by Jamaican-born mother, daughter and son-in-law Leonie McKoy, Dr. Shrusan Gray and Rodrick Leighton, Dukunoo calls itself Miami’s first Black- and female-owned upscale Caribbean restaurant. The name is West African for “sweet thing,” the room pairs indoor-outdoor dining and a full bar with a real jerk stand out back, and the Rastaman Pasta with ackee, callaloo and roasted red pepper is the signature. The house motto says it: come fi di food, stay fi di vibes.
