Who can vote in Nevada<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">To register and vote in Clark County you must be a United States citizen, be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, have lived in Nevada for at least 30 days before the election and at your current address for at least 10 days, and not have been declared mentally incompetent by a court. Seventeen-year-olds can pre-register, and the registration activates automatically on their eighteenth birthday.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background:#17171d;border-left:4px solid #DCA83E;padding:20px 22px;margin:0 0 14px;\">\n<h3 style=\"color:#DCA83E;font-size:20px;margin:0 0 10px;\">If you have a felony conviction, you can vote<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:16px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 10px;\">Nevada restores your right to vote <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">automatically the day you are released from prison<\/strong>. It does not matter what the felony was, and it applies to out-of-state and federal convictions too. There is no waiting period, no application, no fee, no paperwork and no court order needed. Probation, parole and a pardon all restore the right as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:16px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 10px;\">The only bar is being currently incarcerated for a felony. If your old registration was cancelled, simply re-register at RegisterToVote.NV.gov &mdash; you do not have to prove anything.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:16px;line-height:1.7;margin:0;\">People held in jail <em>awaiting trial<\/em>, including on felony charges, and people serving a misdemeanor sentence can still register and vote, using their pre-detention home address.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"margin:0 0 34px;\">\n<h2 style=\"color:#DCA83E;font-size:26px;margin:0 0 12px;\">2. What ID you need<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">Nevada is not a strict photo-ID state. If you are already registered, <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">you do not need ID to vote in person<\/strong> &mdash; you sign in and your signature is checked against the one on file.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">There is one exception. If the information on your registration did not match DMV or Social Security records and you never answered the county&#8217;s letter about it, you will be asked for ID. You will know because the words <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">ID Required<\/strong> are printed on the address label of your sample ballot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">To register online<\/strong> you need a current, unexpired Nevada driver&#8217;s license, Nevada state ID card or Nevada DMV interim document.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">To register same-day<\/strong>, at an early voting site or on Election Day, the rule is stricter: bring a valid, unexpired Nevada driver&#8217;s license, state ID, DMV interim document or tribal ID showing a current Clark County address. If your ID does not show your current address, bring proof of residency as well &mdash; a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck dated within 60 days, vehicle registration, or a mortgage or rental statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0;\">If this is your first time voting, bring ID anyway. How to register<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">Online<\/strong> at RegisterToVote.NV.gov. Use the same site to update your address, name or contact details. Standard deadline Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with an extended online window October 7&ndash;20 and same-day online registration October 21 through November 3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">By mail.<\/strong> Print the Nevada voter registration application, sign it and mail it to the Clark County Election Department, or call and ask them to send you a form. Paper forms are also at the Election Department, city clerk offices, post offices, libraries and party offices. Deadline Tuesday, October 6, 2026 &mdash; send it well before that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">In person<\/strong> at the Clark County Election Department, 965 Trade Drive in North Las Vegas, at any city clerk&#8217;s office, at the DMV, or at state welfare and WIC offices. Deadline Tuesday, October 6, 2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">At the DMV.<\/strong> Nevada uses automatic voter registration. Most DMV transactions register or update you unless you file a written request to opt out, so renewing a license usually takes care of it.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background:#17171d;border-left:4px solid #DCA83E;padding:20px 22px;margin:0;\">\n<h3 style=\"color:#DCA83E;font-size:20px;margin:0 0 10px;\">Missed the deadline? Your ballot comes in the mail automatically<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">Since 2022, Nevada mails a ballot to <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">every active registered voter<\/strong>, whether or not you ask for one. If you are registered and active at least 14 days before Election Day, a ballot lands in your mailbox in early to mid October. The return envelope is postage-paid, so you do not need a stamp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">Getting a mail ballot does not commit you to using it. You can still vote in person during early voting or on Election Day &mdash; just surrender the unvoted mail ballot at the site, or sign an affirmation that you have not already voted.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background:#17171d;border-left:4px solid #DCA83E;padding:20px 22px;margin:0 0 14px;\">\n<h3 style=\"color:#DCA83E;font-size:20px;margin:0 0 10px;\">Two cards this year &mdash; return both<\/h3>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:16px;line-height:1.7;margin:0;\">The November 2026 ballot is printed on <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">two separate cards<\/strong>, and both have to go back in the envelope. Sending one card back is one of the most common ways a Las Vegas ballot gets partly thrown out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0;\">If mail from the county was ever returned undeliverable you may have been switched to inactive status, and no ballot will be sent. Check your status before October. If you never got a packet by October 16, call (702) 455-8683 or email MailBallotRequest@ClarkCountyNV.gov.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"margin:0 0 34px;\">\n<h2 style=\"color:#DCA83E;font-size:26px;margin:0 0 12px;\">6. Voting early or on Election Day<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">Clark County uses <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">vote centers<\/strong>. Any registered county voter can vote at any location &mdash; your precinct does not matter. Every site runs an electronic poll book connected live to the county registration database, so staff anywhere can check you in. Vote near your job, your kid&#8217;s school, the gym or the store.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">There are <strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">more than 100 vote centers<\/strong> open on Election Day and 25 long-term early voting sites plus dozens of rotating neighborhood sites during the early voting window. The county says you can find a vote center within two miles of anywhere in the metro area, with rural sites in Bunkerville, Indian Springs, Laughlin, Mesquite, Moapa, Moapa Valley, Sandy Valley and Searchlight. Returning and tracking your mail ballot<\/h2>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\"><strong style=\"color:#DCA83E;\">Sign the outside of the return envelope.<\/strong> An unsigned envelope, or a signature the county cannot match, puts your ballot in cure status and it will not count until you fix it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color:#f6f3ec;font-size:17px;line-height:1.7;margin:0 0 14px;\">Four ways to return it: by mail in the postage-paid envelope, postmarked by November 3 and received by 5 p.m. November 7; at a drop box at any early voting site October 17&ndash;30; at a drop box at any Election Day vote center on November 3; or in person at the Election Department or any city clerk&#8217;s office.
